The vast majority of Americans put multiple chemicals on their body not only before they leave the bathroom, but also via multiple consumer products such as building materials, textiles, electronics and toys. This workshop will present new high throughput methods to characterize the population exposure to hundreds of thousands chemical-product combinations, using method of lines and other modeling approaches. We demonstrate their application to parabens in cosmetics and chemicals in building materials, comparing modeled results with biomonitored blood and urine concentrations. We finally discuss how this works provides scientific basis for the international management of chemical in products, in the frame of the UN environment Global Chemical Outlook.
