Undergraduate Admissions
What does tomorrow’s engineer need to know?
At Duke Civil & Environmental Engineering, we’ve thought hard about this question. Our answer: Everything it takes to be inspired, equipped and ready to make an impact.
Why Duke CEE?
You’ll get Duke Engineering’s signature educational experience, including:
- First-year immersion in hands-on design and computing
- Global perspective from study abroad and service-learning programs
- Professional and interpersonal skills you need to become a leader
- Opportunities to do data science, authentic research and entrepreneurship
- Become well-prepared to take the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam in senior year—and pursue professional licensure
Combined with a customizable degree—your choice of a major (or two!) and interdisciplinary certificates—by graduation, you’ll be ready for anything life throws at you!
Expand Horizons with Service Learning
Service learning connects coursework with communities—here in the United States and in places like Bolivia, Ghana and Eswatini. Deepen your Duke experience, and make a positive impact, through a service-learning course.
Where Our Students Go
Approximately two-thirds of each CEE graduating class elects to take the Fundamentals Exam (FE)—97 percent of whom pass the first time, a key step towards a Professional Engineer license. About two-thirds go into full-time work and a third pursue their PhD or attend law or medical school.
Get a Feel for Campus Life
